Although I have effectively cut down the use of my Twitter, I am struggling to do the same with my Facebook account. I find myself using Facebook nearly every time I go onto the computer, which is probably not a good thing. When I need to zone in and focus on my work I can always do so, but if I did not have a Facebook I will probably be able to focus even better. I do not think that I will delete my Facebook, I will just try to cut down my use of it drastically.

While I was on spring break, I came to realize after a few days that I had barely been on any type of social media at all. Something about being home and around my family and friends really made me distance myself from my phone and compture, which I am very happy about. I think that I am on social media so much at school because I am away from familiar surroundings, and want to stay in touch with people from home. While I was at home though I was around people I usually communicated with through social media, so I did not ever have to check it. Sometimes it seems like going home can cure everything!

This week I have definitely cut back my use of social media. I have done so by keeping my phone in my backpack during all classes so that I can not check Facebook or Twitter. When on my computer, I check them before I begin my homework, and on short breaks. It has been a lot easier than I expected to cut down my usage. Once I got in the habit of checking all of my social media less and less, it has become almost habit not to use it so frequently. It has allowed me to focus better in and out of class. I hope that it has allowed me to get my work done much more efficiently as well. I definitely feel better now that I am not so tied down by social media. It is kind discouraging to think about how much of our daily lives social media actually takes up.

This week I have actually succeeded in cutting down the use of one of my social media accounts. I have been using my twitter much less, and checking it much less. I still go on facebook regularly, probably too often. I'm taking it one step at a time though. If I continue to limit the use of my twitter, hopefully I will follow those actions with my facebook usage. It is just so tempting to check both of these when I open my computer each day to start my homework. If you have any ways of helping fight off this temptation please let me know!

Social Media
I use social media just about every day. I often check my Facebook account, and I casually use Twitter. I do not tweet a lot but I check what others have to say sometimes. To be honest I hope to be able to cut down my use of social media in the future. It is a distraction from my schoolwork and other tasks that I have to accomplish. As convenient and fun as it can be sometimes, it is also a large hassle. I often find myself on my Facebook when I am supposed to be getting something done. In fact, this happens just about every day, so I hope to eliminate this from my life soon. This is obviously harder said than done though, as social media is a bit of an addiction it seems.
